The concessionaire Unión Vial Río Pamplonita, part of Sacyr Concesiones, has opened a 7.2 km expressway between the Colombian municipalities of Pamplonita and Pamplona. This layout corresponds to the Functional Unit 2 section of the Pamplona-Cúcuta Concession.
“We are pleased to deliver Functional Unit 2, a road segment with a design speed of 60 km/h where users can save up to 10 minutes on their journey between Pamplonita and Pamplona,” he explained. Francisco Javier Alvarez García, Director General of the Rio Pamplonita Road Union.
“It’s a more agile, safer and more comfortable road that has all the technical specifications of a world-class factory. “We continue to work to implement the most important road infrastructure project in Norte de Santander,” added the general manager.
Three bridges were built on this section of the line, one of them in the Los Adioses sector (municipality of Pamplona) with a curved geometric design. It crosses the Pamplonita River on a 170 meter stretch.
Progress of over 87%
The Pamplona-Cúcuta project, carried out by the Unión Vial Río Pamplonita Concessionaire under the direction of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), shows a progress of more than 87% and is a work that brings development and prosperity to the north of Santander brings and improves connectivity from the north-eastern Colombian border to the interior.
